SWFL Climate Ambassadors Complete Training

Our first cohort of SWFL Climate Ambassadors completed the 3-hour training program in May and are now ready to engage the public in climate discussions.  The SWFL Climate Ambassador program aims to prepare local leaders and residents to talk about climate challenges and solutions with their community and be role models for climate action. Over 60 community members, including 22 FGCU students participated in the program. Day one covered climate impacts and climate solutions that can be implemented by individuals, households, and local governments. Day two provided guidance on how to “Harness the Power of Social Media” to develop a positive public discourse on climate topics. Climate Ambassadors will be provided access to digital resources that they can use in both public presentations and social media postings.  We are excited that the SWFL Climate Ambassadors will help amplify our message and grow our following.
