Participants will receive important information about the purpose and function of stormwater ponds, how to identify pond problems, and learn about aquatic plants that can provide a habitat for wading birds and fish in addition to increasing the health of your lakes and ponds.
Dr. Sandra Gompf, MD, FACP, is an Associate Professor of Infectious Diseases and International Medicine for the University of South Florida and Section Chief in Infectious Diseases at the James A. Haley Veterans Hospital in Tampa. Dr. Gompf lost her son to a type of meningitis sometimes found in Florida's lakes. Pathogens thrive in Florida's warm waters that are increasingly common due to our changing climate. Join us to learn how pathogens are linked to climate and how to stay safe!
